For your initial visit, you will bring the completed forms found on the Scheduling A Session tab.
After reviewing your forms, I will typically test the oxygen level of your blood and take your blood pressure. This is a precautionary measure to ensure your safety in the hyperbaric chamber.
For your comfort and safety, please wear loose fitting, cotton clothes. Also, no metal or electronics of any kind are allowed in the chamber. Both your clothes and body should be clean and scent free. No scents can be worn in the chamber, including perfumes, colognes, or any oils (natural or synthetic).
I will assist you in getting into the chamber. It is set up to make entry easy, even if you have mobility issues.
Once you are comfortably lying in the chamber, I will assist you in putting on your sanitized oxygen mask. It will deliver approximately 98% pure oxygen that you will breathe during your one-hour session in the chamber.
Once you are safe and secure in the chamber, I will zip it closed and begin the pressurization process. It will take about 5 minutes for the pressure to increase to a safe 1.3 atmospheres, during which time you will have my full attention.
Then for one hour, you will just relax and breathe normally. Many people find it so relaxing that they take a short nap. I will be checking on you frequently but will not disturb you if your eyes are closed.
After an hour, you will be asked to remove the mask, and I’ll begin returning the chamber pressure to normal. This process happens slowly over 5 to 7 minutes for your comfort and safety. When the chamber pressure is equalized to the outside, I will unzip the chamber and assist you in getting out.
After your session, I will answer any questions you have about the experience. We will also briefly discuss water, food, and rest requirements so that you gain maximum benefit from each session.
